- BFL13Explorer IINot getting much there with all that shading on the panels. PT needs to set them all out on the ground farther away. :)
- JiminDenverExplorer IIThat's a lot of Eco-W's. lol
- pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
This might be my (long term) future.
All electric powered camper
I love the idea of a single fuel vehicle.
My fall upgrade is 100 feet #10 with 30 amp ends, and a 66 foot, and a 34 foot. I have 3 dogbones for 15 to 30, and another 3 for 30 to 15. - gboppExplorerI think it's kind of a neat idea to use the panels as window shades.
- pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
Width of vehicle (legality) becomes an issue. RV's sometimes are already pushing that limit. I'd have to have mounting that is narrower than the existing awning. That means panels on one side only. It would be possible with deep enough pockets to nest a double layer of panels on the roof which could be deployed with electric actuators.
Unfortunately, my pockets are not so deep and are often threadbare. LOLgbopp wrote:

We don't know the compass headings of the picture
But my guess is the picture was taken looking north , because the Sat dish is pointing toward the picture taker
And
Zoom in look closely, panels are raised and tilted toward picture taker
An open vent cap and top of A/C unit are visible
Tilt on Sat dish is pretty good
I estimate he might be in the lower half of the USA
But far enough north that foliage turns in the fall
Picture looks to be taken in fall or winter
That is true off grid, likely a permanent site - NinerBikesExplorerI like the re-roofing idea with solar panels instead of rubber, but it looks expensive per square foot?
- MrWizardModeratorwidth is not a problem
window panels folded in will not exceed DOT, that is NOT a wide body RV
picture was taken from elevated position, ladder or standing on vehicle
I don't think he's planing on moving it - JiminDenverExplorer III just wonder where the shed that holds the batteries is.

So do I.
In fact, if push ever came to shove my good old Itasca Class C can be that if I pack along a hotplate and toaster oven: The Onan can then charge and run everything from the same tank and fuel as the V10. (I could if I wanted leave home and boondock with the propane tank empty.) :B
In all acceptable seriousness, I believe that these two RVs are close to "single fuel" ... diesel and the sun. The first one for easy peasy camping and the second one for real camping:
