There are "Surge guards" and "Surge guards" it does not mention if it has low voltage or high voltage or frequency shut down if it has time delay re-connect or any of that.. Just the amount of SPIKE supression and the Blue Tooth.
Now I admit blue tooth would be nice. but I want over/under protection not just spike.
If they don't say anything about it disconnecting you from bad power, then it's an almost certain bet that it doesn't.

Thanks for the insightful review of a flawed product. I agree the manual is designed for apple users. I would want far more "meat and potatoes". - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerALARMING

RV's and electrical faults do not have that luxury. A fault may need to be addressed almost instantly after detection. Like a lost neutral or phase to neutral reversal.
But an electrical shutdown in a critical situation during sleeping hours needs immediate attention. Like if a rig is relying principally on electric heating.
I have seen power down here spike to 180+ volts when a high tension line fell upon an X distribution line. It blew dozens of appliances before the H line blew the fusing wire in the line voltage pole transformer.

Yes, I read that, but my question was: Will it connect if there is a problem in the first place? Fer example: will it connect and allow power to the RV if there is an open neutral? Most problems are when you first try to connect. Will this surge guard connect if there are issues, or not allow power to pass through?fj12ryder wrote:
I don't really give a hoot about bluetooth connectivity and range, but how it actually works. Like will it not connect if there is power pedestal issues? Will it shut down if there is an open ground or an open neutral? Will it connect if there is a reversed neutral?
You didn't read my review very well. In that review I said . . .
while the Power WatchDog will alert you if it finds an electrical error, it can only tell you that there is a problem. It can’t disconnect your RV from the power source . . .
So you could have multiple issues, but it will go ahead and supply power to your RV and fry your electronics? But it will tell you what happened and why your stuff fried? That's not such a good system. - ScottGNomad

These are more important than the fact the bluetooth connectivity dropped off at 200 feet. I'd be more concerned with its effectiveness rather than its gadgetry. Is it a EMS or just a surge protector?
As a fellow curmudgeon, I totally agree.
I don't need my EMS, toaster or any other appliance communicating with me.

To me, Hughes failed with its latest device because it has a single LED to cryptically inform the user there's a problem rather than a display giving us V, A and Freq. like other systems. - pianotunaNomad IIIHi TechWriter,
Did the unit allow you to set personalized "cut out" voltages?TechWriter wrote:
I bought the 50A unit 6 months ago. Meh.
You would be better served with the more expensive Progressive or a Southwire 34950 or a cheap voltage meter. - TechWriterExplorer

If they don't say anything about it disconnecting you from bad power, then it's an almost certain bet that it doesn't. It appears to just be a monitor with MOVs or similar for "surge suppression." If it detects an anomaly, it is supposed to alert your phone via BT and you run out and disconnect before your equipment lets the magic smoke out. - fj12ryderExplorer IIII don't really give a hoot about bluetooth connectivity and range, but how it actually works.
