Nifty remote on/off of any 12v device

I'm installing a rear view camera on my truck camper. I wanted to be able to turn it on/off from the cab of my truck, so I can use it for more than back-up viewing.

Browsed the internet and found the perfect solution: A 12vdc wiring harness with a wireless remote fob. One end connects to 12vdc and the other to the device. I installed the harness in my camper. This simplified things, since I didn't have to run wiring under my truck to the camper.

Nifty product at a very reasonable price. I'm speaking only as a satisfied customer here (NFI). ๐Ÿ™‚

I wish I could source those push button push-on, push-off, switches.

Here is another source, Another source

I bought one a few years ago to turn on some amber LEDs I mounted under our steps. Decided next time I would get the relay with two remotes. I have several sets now and intend to do the step lights on the Winnie.

Some of the dealers sell extra receivers real cheap but no key fobs.

Considering the price of copper wires, your set seems like a great deal.

I recently installed a similar switch and it stopped working pretty quickly so I ended up running a physical wire, hopefully yours lasts longer.

Nice find!

If I may add more comments:

If exposed to weather, smear the relay base and pins with dielectric silicone grease. Force grease into the relay connector to protect wire terminals.

Carry spare remote control batteries. Shelf life is very long but remote batteries may not be easy to come by on the road.

I own several of the individual components. The click-on click-off switch is a favorite. Good snap-when-switched feel.

Protect the remote receiver 12 volt input with a 1/2 amp fast reaction cartridge fuse. Used for electronics, it can save your remote receiver. I use a 20 amp ATO fuse to protect the relay. Use on the power inlet side.

Hope This Helps.

I'm using a different product, same concept to control Offroad lights on my Jeep. Everything is relayed/fused before the remote switch.
