Kudos! You did a very good job of gleaning tips and avoiding pitfalls using Search here on RV.net! I think you were also a tad lucky. Same guy (Generator Jim) who suggested prying the air filter (inverted wing nut was my "enhancement") also said the design of the 4KY carburetor makes it near impossible to clean out the idle circuit. You're fortunate in being able to get it cleared out.
You also created some of your own "luck" by being very aggressive and thorough in going after that carb.

And for the Good of the Order: Once again, we can't get Sticky's on ONAN, and it should be 4KY that so many of us have and so many have problems. Those Honda EU's, sure... I don't get it. ONAN repairs are tricky and time consuming. We shouldn't have to invent the wheel every time somebody has one.
