Pleated Blind Peg

We have pleated blinds in our Sunseeker. The bottom peg has pulled out from the wall, leaving a hole too large to just re screw the peg.

What is the best way to repair this. I was thinking maybe filling the hole with something like plastic wood, but am not sure that this would be strong enough to hold the peg.

Thank you for any thoughts or suggestions.
  • I have used JB Weld for similar projects, with great results. It's a two part epoxy paste. A little goes a long way. Fill the hole, let it dry, and drill a new hole for the screw.

Pro tip number one: since JB Weld can be sticky and messy, put masking tape around the area to be filled.

Tip number two -- wear disposable gloves. JB Weld is hard to remove from your skin.

Please don't ask how I learned these tips.
  • Same as way2roll said. Use toothpicks with wood glue and
when dry screw back into it.
  • Insert several toothpicks with wood glue and cut them flush when dry.
  • Glue a plastic wall anchor plug in with Gorilla construction adhesive and once dry (24 hours) screw the peg back in.
