problem w/ slide

Question

I can't get the slide in. The Motor works but it knocks loudly. From what I can tell,the gear in the box that the hand crank goes to is slipping. It also won't crank manually..How hard is it to remove the box and might it be fixed or will It have to be replaced? this is my first time on here and I'm looking foward to speaking with everyone

Need more info.!!! Make and model of coach.  Is it a hydraulic or electric?  Gear driven?  HWH???? How much of a search have you done?

it's an older Jayco fifth wheel Eagle series its electric and I climbed under and  my wife ran the motor. I could hear it jumping in that one smaller gearbox

If anyone has an idea,i would be indebted.The slide leaks like a sieve along the inside edge and I cant get to it to seal it except from the inside.
