Replacement ladder mount/bracket for Chevy conversion van

Hi folks...

We have a 1994 Chevy conversion van with a ladder on the back. One of the mounting points rusted away and I need to replace the bracket.

What I need is:

1) a new "metal barb connector":

But I also need :

2) the "post" that the barb connector will slide over...THAT'S what I can't find.

Any ideas?

I have looked everywhere around the web, but can't find that post.

    Several places to look. First is the junk yard. Vans there with ladders (universal, doesn't have to be a Chevy). Next is Customvans.com or one of the places that still sell van stuff. Try a RV place, even their catalog. Lastly, go to vanning.com, register (free) and post in the "Wanted" thread.

    I would look at your local marine supply. Similar products used on deck rails.
