- buckyExplorer IIThe indicators are a great idea. I'll have to look for some switch's with them built in. Easy to miss at bedtime.
- DurbExplorerI replaced my entire scare light fixtures with full LED units I found on superbrightled.com. They are really bright and will flood a large area. I only use them as needed. I installed bright red indicator lights on the interior switches so I don't inadvertently leave them on.
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerEight bucks on Amazon. Phony as a 3 dollar bill. Glue MAGNETS to rig and camera base. I also have a rattlesnake buzzer. Real enough to scare the hell out of people.

Scare lights aren’t annoying, it’s the owner of the scare light that’s annoying you.
You know what annoys me? Satellite dishes.
Especially those tripod mounted dishes.
Makes the campground look like the Jansky Very Large Array. :P

At least satellite dishes don’t bark... - NRALIFRExplorerScare lights aren’t annoying, it’s the owner of the scare light that’s annoying you.

We mostly boondock, and it's nearly impossible for friends to find you after sundown if you don't have some decent exterior lights. - dedmistonModeratorI ordered replacement LED bulbs last year and they worked great. They aren't holding up very well though. I think the road is too punishing for them and they're starting to burn out now (about 15,000 miles later).
I'm not too mad though. They've worked well and this doesn't seem like horrible performance to me. - IroverExplorerThe old 1156 is to hot and melts the cover. Use the replacement with LED bulbs

A standard 1156 may melt the lens.
