I have a three year old model Honeywell that uses two AA batteries and is programmable. If you want to monitor your pets, maybe a webcam you use when you want to instead of a thermostat that will use battery power 24X7.

I'm using a Micro Air sold by Hutch Mountain. Both Bluetooth & WiFi. Check their website for the correct version for your AC / Furnace.

I also have a Micro Air Thermostat it has a quirk or 2 but it gets the job done.

Considering it for hot weather where you have power and run AC so it could be monitored for pet left in camper should AC fail.

A device that needs power 24/7 to run WiFi or Bluetooth seems like a bad idea if you plan to be anywhere you don't have a power source. Pulling from your batteries all the time just to have a convenient thermostat might be nice, but would it draw too much power over time?
