Slidout motor wiring FIXED

2005 Keytsone Cougar 294RLS

The factory routed the battery wire tightly around the slide out motor and the slideout manual crank shaft (the one coming from the motor housing end with the keeper pin in the end of it.)

This causes the slideout manual crank shaft to wear into the battery wire every time the slide is run in or out.

The shaft spins so slowly that it took 9 years before it wore through but eventually they all will if routed this way. Routing an electrical wire around a moving part is NOT acceptable.

Easy fix. Patch the worn wire and use zip ties on the frame rails to hold the wire up instead of wrapping slack around the shaft.

Hope this helps someone.
