The main reason I don't want to power one side, it has- Water Heater-AC-Convertor & some outlets, things that are not used while using the 2000w inverter. I wanted the converter off while using the inverter/charger/generator. I use a Honda 2000 mainly to recharge batteries.

Yes I could power both sides. Then while using the inverter, I'd have to either--turn the Convertor circuit breaker off or install a relay. You don't want to run both at the same time.
This is the first mention of an inverter. You kept saying "generator." That particular detail would have aided those trying to help.
