Water tank not pumping to empy tank

When the pumps starts to sputter the hose in the tank or the fitting is not low enough to get all the water out. Did a test and when the pump sputters the guage shows 1/3 left and when I drained the tank I got almost 10 gallons left. Any pic's on mods that you all have done to help out the situation? This is on a Artic Fox unit.

I had the same problem so I made up this fitting to install in the tank on the suction line. Worked out great. Now I can suck more water out with the pump than I can drain out using the tank drain.

There should be a drain on the bottom. Redo the supply piping to draw water from that location and plug the fitting on the side. Make certain to incorporate a new drain fitting so you can still drain the tank.

the issue is not winterizing but just able to get 30 gal of water out of a 30 gal tank. I will have to go underneath and loosen off the black coreplast and have a look. I do not want it to suck all the******into my lines also even though there is a filter ahead of the pump.

I have never put antifreeze in the fresh water tank. It is like an ice cube tray only bigger. They never break, my almost completely empty plastic tanks haven't either, even at 30 below.

I don't anylonger but in order to get antifreeze in all of plumbing I did before installing a bypass. Heard about too many busted fixtures and lines where water remained after lines blown out with air. I believe keeping every thing wet while in storage prevents seals drying out. I can also pump antifreeze into everything much quicker than evacuating system. Comes down to preferrance I suppose.

Our Arctic Fox is an older one, but the fresh water tank outlet is on the side of the tank, about 3/4 to 1 inch above the bottom. They can't really go any lower.

I have never put rv anti freeze in a fresh water tank. It is like an ice cube tray only bigger. They never break, my almost completely empty plastic tanks haven't either, even at 30 below.

Not realy unusual and considering square inch surface of tank bottom,probably nessary to prevent pulling sediment. It will be a real problem come time to winterize. Have to pour in over 10 gallons of anti-freeze before pump picks it up.:M
Unless you have a water heater bypass. :B In which case you can winterize with 2 gallons of anti-freeze. Check it out and install a bypass if not already equiped with one.

If it's still under warranty, obviously take it in. If not, I guess your gonna have to figure out how to get a look at the freshwater tank and where to feed to the pump mounts to it. Going to want to do an adjustment but until you can see how it's setup on your specific tank, not sure what you will run into.

Chances are the pick up line is not adjusted to the bottom of the tank (it actually SHOULDN'T ever be RIGHT on the bottom). Water from the very bottom is not usually something you WANT in your water system but 10 gallons is way too much to be left.
