2003 Holiday Rambler Presidential water dump problem

Hi, after snow camping last I attempted to dump all the tanks-black and both grey. I could pull all but one gray.
This TT has a water station that is accessed through a door on the side of trailer. there are t handles the let you pull (empty) them remotely.
When I was pulling one of the grey tanks, the t handle broke off the end of the rod.
Over the years, it has been more difficult to put the handles. Don't know if there is a way to lubricate them.

Does anyone know how to get into this to fix it? I would presume that this is a cable system that attaches to the knife valve.
Any ideas? Any other places to look for info?
I would also be interested in a "shop manual" for this trailer.
thanks!
  • Why was this post moved? Where was it moved to? If there is more appropriate way to communicate, what is it?
    Thanks
  • Thanks, found them.
By the way, have you heard of the HR Presidential Washington?
I have seen listing of ones for sale...2014's, but have not been able to find specs from builder.
    Thanks again...
  • Do a google search. This one is from Amazon and is for the black tank. Your gray tanks will be 1 1/2".
Valterra TC372 72" Flexible Cable Kit with 3" Valve
Your local RV parts dealer will have them also.

  • Can you tell me where to find the parts? My local HR store closed this year.
    Thanks
  • You will have to open up the underbelly. If your other cables are pulling hard you might want to replace them all while you have it open. The cable and valve come as a single unit. Both components wear out and need to be replaced.

  • So the cable needs to be replaced?
Do you know if they can be lubricated?
I see that yo have a Suite. Does yours work the same way?
I guess I should start by taking apart the front of the wall of the center,or unscewing the t handle and pulling it from the inside?
    Thanks
  • All those valves are cable operated. You will have to remove part of the underbelly to replace the valve/cable assembly.
