2014 Keystone Passport 280BH or Rockwood mini 2504

We went at looked at campers this weekend. These were the 2 we liked best for our family of 5 and under 4600 dry weight. We really like the keystone's floor plan but researc ing online made me leary of the passport slides.

Any opinions or thoughts? Any other makes and models we should look at with with either double sized bunks or 3 bunks?
  • We're on our second Rockwood trailer, first a ROO HTT and now the Ultra Lite 2604. Fit and finish have been fine, no issues that a screwdriver and a minimum amount of DIY wouldn't fix. I've been impressed with the MiniLites...a good, functional space in a small package. Have no experience with the Passport, so no help there. Agree, get the one that suits your needs the best.
  • I have a Passport 3220. This is our 3rd season with it. We really like it. Tows very easy, the spread out axles to do help a bit. No really big complaints. Just upgraded the tongue jack to a power one. I haven't not had any problems with the slides.
What will you be towing with?
  • We had a 2005 forest river class c sun seeker duel slide motor home in the first year we camped in October the heat went out and there was ice inside the rv the storage compartments always had water in them if it was real hot you baked it was 30 feet and the ac was in the front and the sleeping area was in the back and was non ducted I did like the E 450 ford chassis it was easy to drive and smooth my next tow vehicle in 2015 is likely to be a ford sport trac 2007-10 it will tow my Kodiak
  • FWIW, we have an 04 Rockwood 2502. It has the curtain separating the queen bed from the rest of the TT. We have had it 4 years and love it. Lived in it FT for a month while our current home was closing.

Just finished a trip to San Antonio last month, and this week, Branson. Also, we stepped down from a class A to this TT. Good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for. We will have this TT until upgrading to our retirement class A in a few years.

  • 2504S has absolutely no privacy in the queen bed according to the floor plan I saw.

  • Well, we just bought a Rockwood mini-lite (different floorplan) and except for some fit & finish issues (which seem rampant across many brands these days) are happy with it so far. You might go to the Forest River owners forums and check those out, if you continue to be interested in the Rockwood.
