I don't know about new 2015ish pickups but in the past the 2500 and 3500 were almost the same short of a different door sticker.
My 2003 F-250 SD is vertually identical to the same year 350. I think the only difference if rear spring block which on 250 is 2" tall and the 350 i think is like 3 or 4" tall.. everything else is same.
same everything else.
the 2500 will cost less than a 3500 which make the 2500 a better deal especially in diesel.
If you buy new from dealer and do that in sept, oct, nov time frame on last day of month you can get a diesel for just about same price as gasser. just go in with total out the door offer adn be prepared to walk out.
bet they follow you out the door and beg to take the deal.. I came home and called them back and offered $1,000 less than my first offer, which was quite a bit lower than the MSRP plus the rebates etc. and they took it..:)
Thanks that is very helpful. I'm actually going back-and-forth now on a 2015 diesel 2500 Chevy LTZ With 75,000 miles on it and we are currently around 44,000 They had it listed for 48. Unless I can get a new one with all the bells and whistles in the 40s, I'm going to have to stick with used.
I like used myself.. let someone else suffer the desperation on it. That sounds like a good price. I like to use KBB.com private party sale price and nadaguides.com number to see how they are pricing the unit. Before you pull the trigger, so to speak, see if you can find or know of a good GMC/Chev diesel mech to check it over for you.
with only 75K miles you might be in good shape..
check the GMC diesel forums or just google,, "2015 duramax problems" and see what pops up. be prepared to read stuff for a while.
good luck. :) the LTZ level is NICE for sure.. :')
I actually had a new client come in today and guess what - he is a diesel mechanic. I told him I was trading in my Audi for a 3/4 ton and immediately he said "I hope you got the duramax/allison combo." I told him I was and he had nothing but great things to say. He told me that around 180k some issues I would probably have but said it was a simple fix. He was also happy with the price I gave him for his legal work so he in turn said he would take care of me later when I need some help with the truck. I could not have asked for better timing ;)
the universe has a way of providing you with the stuff you need when you need it.
Thats how i found my 2003 f-250 7.3L and 2005 airstream. Now if the PO of airstream had gone ahead and picked up the nature's head compost toilet that was on there way to Naples it would have been the perfect trip to florida when we picked up the airstream.
win some loose some.
PS: you want to make sure the diesel mech is a duramax type.. there is difference between like a ford and GM engine in regard to what breaks or what you need to be aware of.
I know from reading forums, some years of duramax have issues with injectors, LBZ's maybe, and other are bulletproof LB7's?. good to ready up or google "best duramax year"
good luck and happy trails legal boy..
