Is this a new engine and new news, or is it the 2.7 that’s been in the big trucks for a couple years now?

...bench seats and girlfriends just go together. Especially if you teach them how the stick shift works.

With a stick and an empty bed, I could spin the tires even with the low hp but never got into ruining a set of tires over a weekend like an idiot buddy with a Montecarlo SS did.

Lol! Hey I resemble that remark! My second “nice” car was a 86 Monte SS. Drove it while I restored the Impala. That 180hp got to the ground pretty well. Could burn some tires. But the 400 out of my Impala had enough snort to roast the tires and the 200r4!

Afaik, they’re holding up pretty good in the full size trucks so far.
And, at least last year, they were a cheap engine option that didn’t give up much to the 5.3.

Had a red 76 or 77 Exciter back in the day. That sled was so much lighter than most of the tanks on the market. First sled I had that made “powder riding” a possibility. Although I was in middle school and high school in the mid/late 80s so out west road-trips didn’t exist for me yet. It was an Illinois ditch banger!

Good eye Grit! It was a new 340 Enticer, LW, fast for class, wide stance, and great in the 5' deep powder at 6,800 ft. Other sledders would watch, then ask, "how can you get going, once stopped, in that deep snow". I've been sledding the mountains of SD, Wyo, Montana, and Idaho for many years. My newer MT sleds a far cry though, from that very dependable Enticer!
