- downtheroadExplorerProbably most every time I walk around our trailer I inspect the edge caulking...for sure every time I wash it...also the caulking around the running lights.
Roof gets a detailed look over twice a year....re-seal and caulk as needed.
4 trailers, 20+ years - no leaks. (ours is stored in covered storage which makes a BIG difference) - spoon059Explorer III do it once a year. The CORRECT answer is whenever your manual specifies it. I believe they recommend every 3 or 4 months, depending upon manufacturer.
The absolute BEST thing you can do for longevity of your RV is to have covered parking. I use eternabond tape for the roofing edges. Eternabond has a 20 year life expectancy. Caulk has about a year or 2 life expectancy. - chiefneonExplorerHowdy!
Check the roof at lest twice a years. I was alao told by RV tech keep a close eye on the corners.

Chiefneon - anaroExplorerDon't forget to repack your wheel bearings yearly, every spring is a good time for this. We inspect our roof every time we wash and wax (2 x yr). We recaulk as needed. Keep an eye on the water level in your battery as well.
- TequilaExplorerDont assume because an RV is new it does not need caulking. I found a few areas on mine.
- MorMJSExplorerThanks all for the info
- kgarrett9999ExplorerI just bought my first TT with slides. What is your normal maintenance for the slide seals?
- anaroExplorerYou can clean them with wd40 and then rinse them off. Once dry coat with a little bit of baby powder to keep them from sticking.
