I just played this game in jan and ended up in an f150

if you are stuck loyal to dodge I say yes limited slip diff, no on air.

Actually, I have Ford getting me a price too. I just didn't have any questions about the Ford build.

The Ford MSRP is $43,330, the RAM MSRP is $34,655. That is 25 percent more. They will have to make me a REAL GOOD DEAL because DW won't go for a 25 percent premium just for a Ford.

Is this going to be a 1500, 2500, or 3500? Me, I would opt for Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle for $435 it will have more use towing or not towing.

Yes to anti spin, no to rear air. More problems than they're worth. Is the truck going to be a tow vehicle or toad? The Rams have very little payload for towing.

Skip the 1500 150 option and go with a 25 series if you will be towing over 6-7K lbs or anykind of 5w. You will not have the payload. Power yes, payload NO! Get heaviest gvwr option you can, ie 7200-8400 in a 15 series.

If you are going diesel, ram is your answer. Every truck made should be ordered with a limited slip rear diff. So yes order that. Air bags might be necessary or helpful but you didn't tell us what you tow, so we can't answer.
If buying a gas truck (poor choice in my opinion) then Ford is the only way to go. Ecoboost is the only way to go.

They shouldn't even offer trucks with open differentials. IMHO of course.

Yes, get the limited slip. The air suspension is nice, but I'm also leery of it. There have been reports of it malfunctioning in below freezing weather, which happens around here often enough.

What are you planning to tow? And is a 1500 really enough truck once its loaded with family.

Going half ton, yes limited slip and as deep of tears as you can order. No air ride.
IMO the disadvantage of the Rams is the low payload and limited options to shore up the coil springs, but I'd still go Ram if that's what you're after. You can get air bags and maybe? Timbrens type springs if you need to help the coils out.
Go for the hemi or eco Diesel. eco D is a bit down on power but a small tune wakes them up.

I will try to answer the questions.

Ram 1500 or F-150 towing an Airstream Flying Cloud 23FB with 6000 pound GVWR and 4806 pound dry weight with LP and batteries and 467 pound dry hitch weight with LP and batteries. Reese WDH/sway control.

RAM will have 5.7l V8 Hemi with 3.92 axle, F-150 will have 3.5l EcoBoost V6 with 3.55 axle. DW won't agree to diesel.

Family is just DW, me and a 40 pound dog.

Ford has several things RAM doesn't that I would like, but if priced too high, DW won't go for it. The Ford MSRP is 25 percent higher than the RAM MSRP. I am expecting an offer from Ford today, and will be going to Dodge Monday to get an offer.
