"Can I carry loaded gun in my Camper?"
Wayne, that looks like a question to me.
And the answer is "Yes. But please don't seek legal advice on this forum".

From what I understand the gun & ammo must be kept apart, yet the way I see it I should be able to keep a loaded gun in the camper & I would only have access to it while set up in a camp ground & no way possible able to reach it from the cab of the truck.
That last sentence may or not be true. I cannot reach my camper because of the Q-cab and a non-operable rear window. Some campers might not even have a front window. Someone else might have a reg-cab with a sliding window that mates to the camper and there is the possibility of grabbing item within reach.
Perhaps due to the possibility of grabbing an item regardless of pick-up truck and camper combo, those who write and make laws will consider it in the same definition as a class C. And, as such it will be subject to the law of "RV's" no matter how much logic is presented if the case is such that the last sentence were true. - bighatnohorseExplorer II

The OP made a very simple statement/comment. I guess it could be considered a question, but I am not sure. If you post outside the statement/comment/question, it will be considered Off Topic or a Troll and treated accordingly.
I've heard its considered a 2nd home & being its a truck camper I have no access to the guns without parking & unlocking the back door & climbing to get them.

- Golden_HVACExplorerWhile moving, the camper is a vehicle, and not a home.
I know a guy who lived in New York, and to become a detective, you had to make so many felony arrests. One cop was pulling over hunters and asking to search their trunks (a fairly inocent thing) and if they found a loaded firearm (normally a hunting rifle) he could make a felony arrest, and probably get a conviction.
After a few of these, the cop was asked to stop doing this, or else! It was back in the 60's.
Fred. - 77chargerExplorerWheels rolling keep it locked and when stopped keep it cocked!
And yes you can carry ammo and gun in the same container when rolling just cant keep the ammo in the firearm itself.
When i take my gun in camper i dont keep it in a locked box inside the camper it usually stays by my bed usually a pistol gripped shotgun with slugs but i instead lock my door between stops its really considered a locked container if you lock the door just dont leave a window open and make sure it is unloaded between stops!! - Reddog1Explorer II

Moderator - 2edgeswordExplorerThe federal Firearms Owners Protection Act (FOPA) will cover you while traveling between two places where you can legally possess the firearms. In transit the firearms have to be unloaded and in a locked container (firearms and ammo can be in the same locked container) out of immediate reach (trunk of car, trailer, etc.). I don't know if there are clear guidelines on whether FOPA would cover you during an extended stop (overnight or multiple days) in a place where a state pistol license is required.
I would be very concerned with respect to handguns in a state like NY and whether FOPA would cover you while camping. It would seem rational that FOPA would cover you during an overnight stop on your way to your final destination (unloaded and locked up) but as a temporary destination (multiple days) I wouldn't be surprised if that was not covered by FOPA, at least in the mind of the powers that be in NYS.
If you're doing anything but traveling through a state I would check the state laws before planning to spend the night or a few nights camping in that state. - Blanco1ExplorerMaybe you guys misunderstood me?
I did not mean a loaded gun within reach of the driver..
