Do all hitches work with V-shaped TT's

We are strongly considering the Flagstaff V-lite 27VRL. We have always intended to get a Hensley or P3 hitch for whatever TT we purchase. It's a little overkill for this trailer, but we are very concerned with driving comfort, so the Hensley/P3 is our choice.

The V-lite trailers occupy most of the TT front A frame with living space. Will this get in the way of The Hensley/P3 installation or that of other WD hitches?
  • I have a windjammer and use the propride. Only issue is I have to remove one jack to get the propane tanks out. Works great.

  • I have Flagstaff V-lite and 12000 Equalizer hitch. It works with no problems.
I did not have to move anything. The bar holders fit perfectly. I don't know about Hensley/P3.
  • We went with the BlueOx for our V-nosed ViewFinder (see signature picture).

The only issue we had was that the battery shelf was mounted to the frame right where the brackets needed to be.

We had the battery shelf rebuilt - lower (since the batteries were under the nose and hard to get out) and set farther back in the "v" (to accommodate two batteries instead of one).
  • I don't know if this will help, but I have a FR V-Lite and we are using the Equalizer hitch and they were able to make it work.
  • Hensley makes the Hensley SwiftArrow hitch just for applications like you describe. You still get the sway control that Hensley is known for but don't have the jacks to interfere with the overhanging V nose of the trailer.

  • I could see where you might have a space interference issue trying to match a HA to a v-nose trailer.
If you can't make that hitch work, you might look at the BlueOx swaypro with the side mounted bolt on brackets. Those brackets may well solve the problem created by the v-nose intruding into that space on the trailer a-frame.
