Do You Lower Your Jacks When Parked

Yes always do. I don't stealth camp in walmarts but if I did...I might not there.

While I have the little "Lego Block ramps", it's usually too tricky to get the camper level. I lower the jacks, disconnecting the Fast Gun tie downs, and then level, keeping as much weight on the truck as possible. Typically, I'll get the camper level and then "Lower ALL" at the same time back onto the truck until one shows uneven.

Still working on which way to level first, Front to back and then side by side or 'verse visa'.. hehheh always fun eh?

It's PITA but getting used to it. Also, helps in high winds to stabilize camper.

There are other "Threads" covering this in more detail. Some don't release the Fast Guns/Happy Jack/tied downs as they only need a little lift...

I'm not at that level yet... as you don't want to be lifting up the truck too... just take the camper weight off a bit...

We always lower jacks while long term camping meaning more than two days. Also, disengage fastguns.

When I am by myself I do not lower the jacks but the DW insists on them being lowered when she is on board. I level the truck using the lego blocks which I find to be very easy to drive up onto when in 4x4 low range. Then only slight leveling is needed with the jacks so I never need to disengage my fastguns.

I have never lowered my jacks when the camper is still on the truck. If I need to level I simply level the truck itself.

Always do, in fact I carry 4 car jack stands , lower the jack to the height that I set them at, have stopped @ some very windy places on our travels and it stops all rocking and rolling. Will not leave home without them.

I used to drop the rear ones when on my F250 for stability if I was not towing. When towing, I used to just drop the tongue jack with the trailer still hooked up. With the 5500, I don't bother with either.
