Dodge Ram Transmission Questions

I've finally convinced DW that it would be a good idea to look into getting a new truck. We're trying to do more camping, and although our 6.0 dually has been a pretty good truck for us, I don't like going on a trip and waiting for the other shoe to drop. That being said, we've both fallen in love with the looks and interior of the new Dodge 3500.

I have a couple of questions about the transmission and gears in the new Dodges. Is it worth the money to upgrade to the Aisin transmission versus the other 6-speed. Also, should I be looking at the standard 3.42 gears, or should I upgrade to the 3.73s or 4.10s. My gut says the 3.73s are the way to go, but I'm not sure.

I'm looking for the best combination of pulling power and fuel economy. I pull a 15K 5er when towing, mostly flat land and small hills, but we like to take a couple trips a year to Stone Mountain or the Smokies in Tennessee. When not towing, the truck will sit mostly. It'll be my errand vehicle, but I've got a work car that I drive while working.

Also, any MPG info from those that have a newer DEF model Dodge would be appreciated.

Thanks for any and all responses!
