Going from an 06 F-350 to a 15 F-250

Thanks for the feedback. I went with the F-250 and have ordered airbags and Torklift tie downs. Had the Happyjacs thought I would try something different this time.

After owning two of 7.3 I bought 6l just becouse it come in right package for right price.
6l is high-performance engine with couple of baby teeth.

You need to go look at the two in person. Everybody claimed my Ram 3500 had helper springs. However, when I went to pick it up at the dealership, the helper springs weren't there. Then I went out and looked at a few others and none of the 3500 SRW had the helper spring. Double checked and found out the helper springs are only put on the 3500 DRW.

That being said, my 2015 truck in complete stock form without the helper springs actually carries my 2400# camper better than the 2004 did with factory helper springs and upper stable loads.

Ivylog: You better double check your assertion. With the camper package, The F250 has the same springs as the F350 but a shorter axle block. Look at my 2005 F250 here:







Yes, I have upper and lower StableLoads along with Firestone air bags, but the spring pack and stabilizer bar are OEM with the camper package on my F250.

Common knowledge... NOT. A F350 since 99 will have an extra helper spring that the F250 does not have. A F350 has springs on the rear where a F250 has a spring.

That was true for trucks up until 97, but there are options for SuperDuty trucks. I have A codes on my F250, and B code springs come on F350s.

I've had 2 newer F250 company rigs now. A '13 and currently a '15. Not sure what options pkg they have but the rear springs are pretty soft for a 250. I would hold out for the 1 ton or plan on beefing up the suspension for any decent size camper.
Btw the chassis is essentially unchanged since 99. Your airbags should work on the new truck if you choose.
I wouldn't buy a new Superduty for anything less than a great deal since the new SD chassis will finally be out in a year? Or so.

If Ford still offers the "camper package" for a F250, get it as you get F350 rear springs and a rear sway bar.
