Has anyone replaced their tub with a shower?

It was original equip. by KZ. It's larger than most at 30"D x 48"W. It is nice to have something that size but something smaller would have worked for us too.

SEA used to have a website accessible to the public and had the various sizes of showers and other products.

I just looked, and you are right. Bummer.

One manufacturer of RV showers is SEA - Shower Enclosures of America. They don't seem to have a website anymore that is accessible to the public that shows all their products. Google them and they have contact info. and see if their is a dealer somewhere. We have a walk-in SEA shower stall in our TT.

For sure . I have seen under a few bathtubs through access panels and nearby cabinets . Every one that i have seen in a TT has been raised over the plumbing. Adding a new shower pan would probably have to be built up on a base.
It could probably be made to be a little lower than the OEM tub in order to help someone unable to lift themselves over a tub's edge, but the new base, would have to have some height to it. Measure it out carefully if that is the reason for doing this.

I actually made one in my class B , out of marine plywood. I used 3m 5200 to join and seal the seams. I finished the entire base with polyurethane, probably 10 coats. It looked like a glass cover on stained wood and lasted many showers over its 5 years. It never molded up.

If you are wanting something that will fit in the space you have, but want a shower basin vs. a tub, go to a boat or car fiberglass repair shop. Yes, they will have to special make a mold and lay in the gel and fiberglass, but it will be custom made to fit in the space, and exactly what you want.

A guy I flew remote control planes with custom made fiberglass planes from molds that he built. If he (an at the time (early 90's) retired WWII pilot) could design from scratch, build and fly these planes, then a good Fiberglass shop should be able to make a basin for you.

Worth a shot...just my two cents...take with a grain of salt.

I'm not the OP. Perhaps our reason for requiring a shower and not a tub is similar. Hubby cannot safely step over the side of the tub. Therefore, we have had to eliminate many otherwise suitable TTs. In particular, I note that it is EXTREMELY difficult to find a TT which has bunks + shower. All the BH models have a tub.
