Having 30 amp plug installed at home

First and foremost, it is NOT, and I repeat NOT a 220-volt circuit like a clothes dryer or range. It is a 110v circuit and is normally wired with a 30A breaker and 10-gauge wire.

It's 120 volt Not 240 volts.
It's an RV outlet Not for a washer/dryer.

Might consider a 50 amp 240 volt for the future.

I wired in one at our cabin. Really simple. Plug in a 30 amp breaker into your panel. If it is full you will have to wire in a sub panel.

Run a 10 gage wire to the the 30 amp outlet. Pretty hard to go wrong.

If you are getting a permit etc I would have 50 amp installed instead of 30 amp

You can get half size/tandem breakers...two in the normal space of one so no need to add another panel if I read your post correctly. You may have to buy a tandem 15A to replace two normal size 15A breakers and then get a single 30A for the new 120V RV plug. Electricians have hooked up a 30A RV plug to 240V even though the RV plug will have 30A/125V molded into it.:S

its pretty simple, same as wiring another 15 amp circuit, just heavier wire
but unlees you want to run the tt's ac AND water heater at home, why bother?

my tt will run its ac on a normal 15 amp garage circuit

It is wired the same as the 15A and 20A 120VAC receptacles...

As far as having friends, father-in-laws, and other non-professional installers is that who is going to be responsible if what is done when everything goes up in BLUE SMOKE... Professional Installers have INSURANCE for their mistakes...

GUESS WHO WILL PAY FOR THE MISTAKES of your friends, father-in-laws, and other non-professionals installers...

X2 put in a 50 one can use it for 30 now
