Hellwig Sway Bar Question

Hello All:

I have an older Hellwig rear sway bar to put on my 2003 Ford Dually. It was a bar that I bought years ago (5 or 6?) and never put on. Long story short... lost all of the parts except the bar. I just found them all recently, and since I have to rebuild the front sway bar, I got motivated to switch out the rear. The stock anti-sway seemed okay for our TC, but we're also pulling a large GN living quarters, so it might have some added value.

Looking at the process, it all looks simple enough except for removal of the frame bolt (driver's side) for the sway bar link.

It is well hidden behind the diesel fuel tank. I can't get at it from the rear, or the front. The actual bolt itself is a flat plate on the outside of the frame channel, and the nut is inside the frame channel, and blocked by the tank. After 11 years, I'm sure it's nicely corroded as well, which should add to the fun.

The passenger side is no peach either, but at least I think I've got a shot at getting to it.

Has anybody been down this road installing one of these? Was the bolt easier to access than I think? Or, do I have to drop the 39 gal. tank to get at the silly thing? Any thoughts on the process, and if the tank-drop is the answer, what's the scoop on that?

Thanks!

Don
