How do YOU dump your tanks?

Don't think it does actually, just don't forget to close the knife valves.... Never dumped mine in a campground dump station, I have my own in out back (built a secondary septic and leach field)

I leave both open. If I have time and water I also connect the black tank sprayer to flush.

I open grey first to check for 'leaks' then close it
Then open black...run flush or not. Not a every time occurrence
Then a close my downstream added extra valve and open both grey dumps
Greys backflow into black and then I open my downstream extra dump valve and let everything completely drain.

Close off dump valves -----3 tanks and the 1 extra
Add a few gallons back into black and stow hoses/adapters.


Unless using a dump station..then I just dump them all..every valve open and get it done ASAP. Add some water back to black/stow hoses etc and be on my way


But if somewhere that like my sisters place........Macerator. Pump it one tank at a time 75' to cleanout with a 2' rise. Black tank first then both greys and then clean water.

I open and Black valve, drain, then dump two buckets (3 to 6) gallons of clean water down the toilet until it runs clear. Close black tank valve.

Then open Gray valve and drain, dump a bucket of water down sink till it runs clear. Close gray valve.

Nothing mystical, they are just holding tanks.

I dump, I leave with no ritual. no lighting candles, no genuflecting, no shaman and definitely no multiple opening and closings of valves multiple times.
Dump and go.
Some of the rituals I see at dump stations are amazing, some leave me laughing, others leave me disgusted and some get me frustrated because they take forever.
Take a simple task and make it complicated.
My only concession is I try to dump after a days drive but if I can't then I dump when convenient.

I never have Black and Grey open at the same but but my trailer had a Black water sprinkler cleaner thingy.

I open black and turn the sprinkler on and when it runs clear close the Black valve and let the tank fill back up. Then open Black again and turn off the sprinkler. When it finishes draining I close it and dump Grey.

Also use the clear adapter fitting to jet water back at the knife valves and down the drain hose to clean it out.

My routine varies. My black tank doesn't drain worth a ****.... so I normally hook the flush king up and back flush the tank 3-4 times until I quit seeing brown water and paper come out. I then close the black and drain the grey. I say normally because if there is a line I won't sit there and flush the black for 20 minutes, I dump, backflush once and then dump the two grey tanks and move on.

After your first black blowout you will dump some grey to test your hookup and then the black and after it's finished the grey to help clean the hose out.
PS: In 40+ years of doing this I do not wear gloves. Takes less than 3 minutes mainly because the grey has only a 2" line.

It sure is. There is nothing worse than sitting in a line at a dump station Sunday morning or afternoon for an hour, while morons decide that's the time to flush tanks. Tank flushers suck. A lot of PA state parks purposely have removed the threaded connections on the non potable wash down hoses so tank flushers can not be used. Now idiots pull out water bandits. I also witnessed a guy pull out 200' of garden hose, with half a dozen people waiting behind him, with the intention of running it to the potable supply 150' away to use his black flush.

Better yet are the people with elbow high gloves and aprons. Seen a guy in a tyvek suit once, and another with a full face shield. I have to wonder if they wear that **** while wiping their arse at home lol.
