- Turtle_n_PeepsExplorerAbout 300 for me. I've done much more but I don't like it.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIWhen I wasn't retired and had limited vacation time........800/900 miles a day
Well I am retired and don't like traveling more than 250 miles MAX.
Whatever I am going to see has been there for many many years so I am in no hurry and will get there when I get there. - GordonThreeExplorer10 hours for me, however many miles that gets me. Avg about 450
- kknowltonExplorer IIAlso retired. Before retirement, we'd usually go about 6-7 hours a day, max about 9. After retirement, 5 hours a day is about max, but usually we drive about 3-4.
- ken56ExplorerI like to get on the road around 9am or so. That usually misses rush hour thru most bigger cities if I am traversing thru one. Otherwise it all depends on how pressed for time we are. For a good day I have done 300 to 400 miles, or 7-8 hours. We like to be off the road by 4 pm, that way there is usually space at a park and light enough to see backing in and have time for a nice dinner and relaxing afterward. We are retired so time isn't in short supply for us. A family that only has weekends to camp may be a little more pressed for time. I like to take secondary roads when possible too. I hate to be in a rush when we travel.
- danimal53Explorerabout 8hrs max for me, prefer to get where I'm going before dinner, with plenty of time to setup, walk the dogs, relax a little.
- Mandalay_ParrExplorerAbout 500 for me.
- kokotgExplorerAnything over about 300 or 325 and we start to feel really sorry for ourselves...
- nineoaks2004Explorer300 miles is my max. or 7-8 hours which depends on the traffic.
When younger I used to travel 500-600 but time has caught up with me, also I have learned to slow down so I can see the sights. In other words "stop and smell the roses) - 325 is fine, 450 is long, 575 is max. We try not to max it out too often.
We leave early enough to arrive before dinner.
