How much to offer?

I would go to the Jayco website and "build" that exact trailer with exact options. That will give you Jayco's MSRP. I got a quote for a new, built to spec Jayco from RVdirect.com that was about 65% of the Jayco MSRP. That included shipping to Albany for me to pick up.

That was for a brand new, exactly how I wanted Jayco built for me. For a dealer who already has it sitting on his lot taking up space and counting against his line of credit, they should be more willing to bargain. For last years model, he wants to clear it out and get new year inventory.

If it was me, I would spec out a brand new model exactly the way YOU want it and get a quote from the online places. Once you know how much you could get a 2015 with a couple upgrades and exactly how you want it, then you can decide what is a fair price for a 1 year old that may not be exactly what you want.

Either way, good luck with your purchase and put some miles on those tires!

Here's how life works as I know it:

Pay what you feel comfortable paying. Everyone here is telling you what they would pay or what you should pay. In the end it doesn't really matter. If someone should be rude enough to ask you what you paid, just tell them what you feel comfortable telling them.

Nobody will know what you paid except you and the dealer.

I don't see this a necessity unless you are FT'ing and driving thousands of miles a year. If I pull over at a rest area I use the rest area. My enjoyment and need for a TT is at a CG opened up and using it. I have to deploy my slide about 6" to use my bathroom or access the bedroom. No biggie. I do it.

I have to open my other slide to access my fridge. This is a bigger deal but was not a deal breaker or I would not have bought it. We love the layout and the space and that far outweighs the less than a handful of times we pull over to a rest area over our 70+ nights we camped in 2014 to worry about access when slides are in. Buy based on what fits your lifestyle.

MSRP's are inflated. My FR Windjammer had an MSRP of $43,000. Got it for 33K OTD. Special factory order with lots of options and upgrades.

Jayco lists their MSRP on their web site. You can build and price there. Just like buying a truck or car. Wouldn't take much to look at the invoice and compare prices from Jaycos site. Figure in shipping and whatever state taxes are and that should be the total price. Take 30% off that and that should be close.

I would offer $28,000 then split the difference if they don't accept that.

Everyone says that 30% off is acceptable. I say 30% of what? A made up number? I am not delusional, and a starting point in negotiations can be on the low side, just as much as the dealer is going to start his offer on the high side.
