How to install new rear-view camera

Santa brought me a new rear-view camera and a device to hack Ford's in-dash screen to allow me to use the camera both on the road (like a rear-view mirror) and when backing.

I checked the trailer's aluminum siding at the bottom and was able to pull it out enough for a fish tape and wiring. My question is how is the siding attached to the trailer? After drilling a hole through the siding near the top of the trailer, will I be able to run a fish tape from top to bottom? I have a 2002 Jayco Eagle FS266.

Thanks in advance.

i would assume if it's anything like mine it uses a bit of square tubing as conduit for the wires on the clearance lights, so you may be best to take off a top corner light, and the light and fish down from the corner and then to the center from the corner, that way you don't have to try to get around the corner.

or if you can find a loose wire you can disconnect it from the light, tie a string to it, pull it back through and out bottom, then tie your camera wire and the original wire and pull it back.

it's very possible, just depends on how much work you want to put in to it.

(mine is dutchmen so it may be different)

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to remove the center clearance light and see if I can get fish tape to the bottom. I'd prefer to keep the wiring hidden behind the skin.

I put a wireless adapter on mine and just tapped in to the running lights for power, now when i turn on the running lights on the truck, it turns on the camera on the trailer. it's not 100% reliable or a clear picture all the time, but it does the job and has good display most of the time.

Installed one on a previous TT, where I was unable to fish the wire. I used a surface mounted raceway, like this. I painted it and a surface mount jubction box, to match the trailer surface.
