Congrats, a man with a real brain that detects true reality and has his smart wife to back him up which makes it a double winner for many years of enjoyment rather than watching a rusted thru hulk being hauled away to a junkyard in a few years.

Did the 92 and 94 have the 5.7 in them? Or possibly the 7.4 if it was available in the 3/4 ton? 8.1 didn't come around till 2001.

If you are serious about jumping ship look at GM and RAM.

Yeah, tried the service rep that hangs on another truck site. Worked after 3rd time on GPS, but this is the 3rd on the noisy engine and now regen issues. Irritated me that the Rep said "it's time to look for a different dealer". Really? Certified dealer and service dept. and now I need to drive hours for a different dealer (no dealers in area are reputable with diesels)?

Kampfirekid - Sorry to hear about your Ford. Mine is quiet and powerful. Sounds like you need another dealer or some help. I'd suggest visiting the 6.7 forum over at ford-truck.com. A Ford rep frequents there and can often push service issues up the chain and get results.

Ive been a Ford guy forever. No GM or Dodge EVER made me think twice. Several times I have looked at all before buying a new truck, but I didnt care fo the small Dodge cab and the GM carlike interior.
Now, my 2013 F350 is running through regenerations like never before, is loud like a 6.0L Stroke, and the dealer says everything is just fine. I was at a GM dealer the other night for an oldies car show, and for the first time a Chevy 3500HD grabbed my attention. I am getting close to accepting the overpowering square wheelwells with the round tires, and if the price was right, id jump. Love my Fords, but there are no good service dealers around, and that hasme thinking maybe gas is the better alternative.

I don't really have a dog in this fight as I have never owned a oil burner or a Dodge/Ram truck. I have mostly owned GM 1/2 tons My last one was a 1990 with the 5.7 and auto trans it had 247k on the clock with once the usual stuff being worn out. My current is the 2000 Gmc with 97k and has been awesome. My explorer was the worst vehicle I ever had kept having to replace injectors and over heated all the time. GM has been good to me over my brief 26 years I have been driving. That being said I will still drive them all find the best truck for my future needs and purchase that weather it is a Cummin, Stroken or an Duramax or related big boy gasser. Have fun boys

These were all 3/4T gms but that doesn't matter with the electronics and the od trans. Electronics and OD were the downfall of my gms. The 56, 63, 65, 70, 75 and 2 - 78s were all fine. The 91, 93 and the 2000 were all plagued starting at about 75k miles and then the problems came one right after the other til I got rid if them. I fixed some of the things myself but I didn't have time for the big repairs and they got expensive really quick. My 96 dodge 1/2T was totally trouble free but I outgrew it fast. The 97 CTD was in 4 times for simple warranty/recall items and between then and 100k miles I had two $45 parts/simple repairs to make. My 03 was in for one recall and one warranty item and since then I replaced the tps once. My later dodges have put my later gms to shame! Craig
