Line-x, Rhino or manufacturer spray bed liner?

I have both products and either will serve you fine. However, there are a couple of differences. The Rhino, as said, is softer and thicker than the Line-X and after a few years, will ruin almost any light colored clothing that is brushed against it. My Chevy has the Rhino. Even though I didn't buy it new and the lining was already there, it has worn pretty well. The others are correct. Things slide less with the Rhino. I just traded a '10 F350 last Friday that I had sprayed with Line-X. The color did fade a bit, it is harder and things do slide a bit more. Both have great warranties as I did gouge the Rhino with a pallet which was repaired quickly and easily. Now, my camping buddy has the Ford spray in liner in his '12 F350 and it is not near as thick as the Line-X and the truck has been garaged so the jury is still out on that one. Just had my '13 F350 sprayed with Line-X yesterday with the upgrade to the product that is not supposed to fade as the previous one did. Time will tell.

I would recommend doing the hitch first, removing it and having it sprayed, then put the hitch back. This way the holes have liner sprayed over the bare metal. As far as one versus the other, I have had both and have my personal favorite. Rhino is easy on the knees and is grippy and shiny. Line-X is more abrasive yet easier to shovel rocks off of. I do have the new RAM with the factory liner and it is identical to Line-X. Which you choose is personal preference based on what you like better as both are great products.

Had Linex in my last truck. It was OK but over a few years looked old. And sliding was a problem. This truck I did no coating. But went with a heavy duty rubber bed mat. No sliding. Fits under the rails for my SuperGlide nicely. And when I installed it, I slit it on 3 sides to make flaps, around each SG mounting pin. And when the hitch is in the bed, just fold up the flaps to allow the pins to come through it. When the hitch is out, the flaps close down and there is virtually no evidence the hitch was ever in the bed. And when hauling dirt the bed mat cleans up nicely.

Of course I do not use a truck bed very hard any more.

I LineX'd my 2001 Ram. Installed hitch first, then removed it and had the LineX sprayed on and re-installed the hitch.

Still doing excellent. No chips or peeling and still looks good. Shovel gravel and bark a lot. Chris

Line-X here. Several trucks done, not a chip one or any gouge, and I use my trucks. They had to re-spray the last one because of some bubbling. Don't know if it was improper prep or not (which I suspect), they claim it was due to an old machine that was out of calibration. They did have a brand new machine there for the second-go-around. $375 for bed only, the truck had factory bed rails and the tailgate with the step and handgrip in it which didn't need sprayed. I've seen Rhino jobs, too shiny and slippery. I'd bust my butt on that smooth stuff.

I had line-x on my previous truck. Installed before I bought it. Worked very well.

Have factory on my current truck. Works very well.

No issues with either.

Line-X going strong on my 2005 with no chips or flakes.

Line-X hands down...

Had my '07 done when first bought it in OCt. '06. Great product!

Had Rhino in last truck....chipped, gouged, tears and any touchups looked pitiful

Hear that Line-X if touchups needed will look like they weren't even done...but never have had to have any.

From what I understand, the factory liners are basically a Line X product, as the patents have ran out (or maybe they sold??? Just repeating what I was told)

The 3/36 is the biggest issue with the factory liner!!!! If you keep the truck a while, what happens after the 3/36 warranty is up??? Line X/ Rhino have a lifetime warranty!!!

In talking with the Line X dealer, they have repaired more than a handful of factory liners due to peeling/lifting.

I went with Line X due to the better feedback I have heard, but one of the things I heard most is the quality of the dealer!!! So maybe that has to do with some of the feedback I was given as I asked the same question of aftermarket liners about a month ago.

As for hitch install before/after the liner, can't help there as I don't have a fiver!!! Sorry!!!

Good luck deciding, but if I was my decision, go aftermarket regardless of brand due to the warranty!
