Low profile roof cargo storage box for TC

Question

We have the great opportunity to travel the west coast this summer in our TC :). Looking for storage solutions on the roof for all our backpacking gear, and bike gear. I know many frown upon putting gear/added weight on the roof, but I don't really have a choice with the fam. The Yakima lopro 15 cf cargo container seems cool and useful, but pretty expensive. Anyone using one? Are there any other lower profile cargo containers to consider?

we have a low profile Thule that I like very much. That said, we also have a not-so-low Yakima box and I find myself preferring that one. It's lighter and less hassle to pack.

One thought - if you're unsure, out here cargo boxes are as common on Craiglist as June bugs in Texas. Perhaps buy pre-owned to lessen the sting if it doesn't work out?

We have a 21 cu ft Thule.  Will hold skis what ever.  Its high enough so that we can really fill it up when necessary.  It works well.

A couple of years ago Lance offered one as an accessory. it worked out well on our 861.
Just an inch or 2 higher than the A/C. It's also made of a very solid Plastic & Fiberglass with Stainless Hinges & Locks.

Check your local craigslist for a used one.  I got a Thule box for $200 that looks brand new.

Thanks I keep checking craigslist, but seems most people are selling for high prices.  I'll keep an eye out.
