Neat Motion Detect Light

Well if I knew the gadget all the fix was about is probably install one since I'm the late night dog walker and my husband the super early before sun up riser and we're both old, eyesight not what it used to be in the dark. If your don't want anyone to know where you are why not paint your entire rig in Cano and just hide out? To each their own. Me? I just don't care as long as folks are quiet after 10 PM and don't get drunk and noisy before 6AM and don't use 5 finger discounts on my "stuff". For those who try that's why I carry.

Heck, I have this problem at home!

Where I live, the city tries to limit light pollution by having streetlights only at intersections and discouraging outdoor lights on houses. Result: Just about every house has at least one motion detector light, 5 zillion watts, and they all go on and off all night, every time a breeze stirs the trees or a cat walks by.

And, of course, a bright light coming on suddenly will wake people who would sleep through a continuous, unchanging light. Me, I wear a sleep mask, every night, and that solves the problem.

We installed the LED motion light year and it's wonderful. We haven't had any issues with ours interfering with other campers. We typically camp with our rig facing toward the back of the site and no one is behind us. It sure is helpful when walking the dogs.

We haven't had any issues with ours...but was there something about a recall on some of them? It reminds me to check our serial number.

Why all the complaining? Because there are some here who feel their opinions are facts, and the only correct facts. And are not shy about inflicting their opinions on others.
I find it amusing that there are those who brag about stealth camping on a public street to avoid a campground fee who worry about lights.Guess street lights and car head lamps don't factor into their light phobias.
Theres things that iratate me too but fortunately a trivial thing like a light blinking on isn't one of them. Life is to short to sweat the small stuff.

You know you just can't win around here!! A few days ago someone was complaining about campers leaving there outside lights on all the time.
Now a solution (and a mighty fine one at that) has been reached and some one still finds a reason to complain!!

I thought the reason we all were out camping was to enjoy the experience and enjoy the fruits of our labors (IE:trailer,bbq,tow vehicle,A/C, heater,Sat TV,Antenna TV, DVR,Blue ray players, Out door projectors to watch NASCAR on the side of the trailer, out side kitchens so others can see us cook,smokers so others can smell us cook,colorful led lights so others can enjoy my light show,etc)!
Kind of strange how folks with toy haulers go to special places to ride there quads, or dirt bikes,and how others tow boats to go to places with water,,,,,,,,,why don't the people that enjoy darkness got to DARK places??
I go to CAMP GROUNDS to show off the fruits of my and my wife's labors,,( not just the kids,,she worked full time also and bought toys)..
So I question,,,,Why all the complaining??????

It works great. Much better than the stock light that was on the camper.

To be honest, comments like Sleepy's, and others, is what makes a typically uninteresting thread, well, interesting.

While in many ways, I agree with Sleepy, outside lighting is unnecessary and a simple headlamp or flashlight serves most needs. But when walking around and walking up to the camper, fumbling for keys, I could see something useful for the majority, but not sleepy and I. Often posters forget what the forum provides and what type of TC user is reading here. The majority of the people in this forum frequent campgrounds, state parks and just camping with a group of friends. Sleepy, myself, and a handful of others, are the minority.

Personally, I would eschew any outside lighting but I like the fact that someone at least is considering a light that is activated by motion (IR), on an as needed basis. Just look at this thread for the extreme; Outside Lighting Clicky Your IR Motion Detector Light addition looks like a good addition for one's camper, for these reasons.

For me, it is just another light beacon alerting my location to others of where I am camped, which is not in my interest for my personal safety.
