Need HELP! My faucet is broke...

So my family and I are headed on a 1500 mile round trip vacation next week and I brought my camper home to get ready. Going through my check list I found that my bathroom sink faucet is busted. I decided that this was an easy fix as I have replaced many in my home. WRONG!!

See the picture but I cant get this off. The top nut will only screw down a little ways until it hits the large middle section. How do I get that off? Pliers aren't doing the trick.

Help please!

    Thank you for the good report. I wish everybody with a problem would report on how they made the fix. Your fix was simpler than some made it out to be.

    So thanks for all the help. I did get it fixed for my trip and we are back. I did cut the hoses as they would not have come off other wise. Just got new clamps and and new threaded pieces and I was good to go.

    I blew up the pic.it is a nut or swivel fitting. Simply unscrew it with some channellocks. Easy peazy.

    I don't know, sure looks like a nut to me. Look at the fitting close to where the stub the tubing is crimped to sticks out beyond what looks like a nut. Looks like there is a very thin recessed area with very slightly larger diameter around the stub like the stub is inserted through a hole in the "nut" of the fitting. Seems like if it was not a swivel nut and all one piece there should be a squared 90 degree corner at that point.

    Look at the red pipe and I guess the blue one too, there is NO WAY in heck you are ever going to unscrew the lower fitting enough that will give you room enough to remove the wingnut...plain and simple.

    Sorry mobeewan, it sure looks like they have used a non-swivel adapter to attach the PEX onto the faucet. Yes, there should be a swivel type adapter there but looking at the picture it looks solid to me. When they assembled the plumbing there they just used a 1/2" male to PEX adapter and crimped the PEX into that adapter. The only way I see getting the faucet out without cutting the PEX is to cut the clamp which is not easily done.

    Do not listen to anyone who says to cut. The faucet connection stems are threaded all the way the entire length. When you put the faucet in place with the threaded stem connections through the counter you put the wing nuts on like in the picture and tighten them against the bottom of the counter. Then you connect the tubing adapters on the end of your tubing like in the picture to the threaded faucet stems. The adapters will have conical rubber seals inside the nuts that will seat against the ends of the stems as you tighten the nuts (see sheet5 step 10). The seals are replaceable if you need to.

    I replaced my faucet with a nice Moen Caldwell that I got at Lowe's.

    Sharkbie adapters will stay tight without pressure. There is a sleeve that you have to compress to get a sharkbite to release. I have a commercial one on 3/4" PEX that I may have to buy the tool to get it to release. It has had no pressure on it for months.

    It looks to me that the PEX lines going to the faucet are going to have to be cut since the adapters to the faucet do not appear to be swivel adapters! (Now that's a really stupid way to cut the cost on an RV) I am not sure about Sharkbite adapters since they rely upon water pressure to secure them and since, at times, there is no water pressure and the vibration while traveling I would be concerned about them...just a thought. You might consider a product called Flare-it. They are in many hardware stores.
