New Trailer + New Hitch= WOW

I picked up my new (to me) 2014 Cougar 31RKS today!! I also upgraded to a new Blue Ox Swaypro. I had some reservations about how a trailer 7' longer, 2000lb heavier would handle compared to what I had. What a shock!!

It was smoother, more comfortable towing to the point I had to watch it to keep my speed down. I don't know whether to credit the trailers Mor/ryde suspension, the Blue Ox or most likely the combination of both. Whatever the reason, I'M LOVING IT!!
  • I like your excitement about your new trailer, it is contagious. I pray you have many safe and fun trips.

Congrats on the new trailer. I had a similar experience when I switched to Blue Ox. New trailer and a new Blue Ox. I have a traditional suspension setup though. The whole setup rides nice and shockingly smooth. When you accidentally leave a cups of water on the counter, they stay put now lol.
  • My first tow with the Blue Ox, I was also surprisingly impressed with the superior ride to other WD hitches I've used (EZ Lift and Reese Dual Cam).

Way too funny! I have a tree I had to trim WAY up when we first moved into our current house. I'm ready to take that entire tree down now, after 7 years!

It's amazing what we do to accommodate our campers! Enjoy the driveway camp!
  • Dutch, I got the Atwood 3000 with the robo foot. Pretty sweet jack. I can't get away for awhile so I may have to do "camp driveway".

One thing I didn't think about was getting a 35' trailer around my circle driveway. Quite the challenge! I foresee a rosebush and light pole getting moved back a few feet.
  • Congrats on delivery of your new camper! You'll REALLY enjoy that stand-alone furniture, being able to move it around any way you want, especially to get directly in front of the television.

For your previous post?.... did you get the electric tongue jack?

Sooooo.... do you have plans to head South for a while so you can go camping in your new home?
