Rear Tail lights on 2011 Komfort Trailblazer

Hello everybody,

\i've bumped into a problem and I thought I'd see if anyone else has encountered this before I crack on and damage something;) I have a 2011 Komfort Trailblazer 24' Rear kitchen model. It has 4 led tail lights, and each year a few more of the leds go mia. I'm inthe process of trying to remove one so I can source a new st, but it's fighting me. I removed the reflective trim and found the 4 screws that hold it in. I've removed them and pried the lights out enough to remove the sealant, and they still are reluctant to come out.

I really don't want to pry against the trailer as I feel I'll damage the fiberglass. Any ideas? Am I missing something. And while I'm asking questions, any leads on the factory replacement light would be helpfull.

Thanks
  • Kmofort when belly-up a number of years ago...so getting direct replacement parts might be tough...

When I have to pry something against a surface that I don't want to damage I place a thin flat piece of wood or even something like a small cutting board against the fiberglass and then use that to "fulcrum" my pry tool off of.

    Good luck with it.

    Well not exactly.

Komfort started in 1966 and was absorbed into Thor Industries in 1993.

A quick search on the wobbly web indicates that Thor Industries continued the Komfort brand up to at least 2017 (I have found some 2017 Komforts for sale).

Besides, Komfort like pretty much ALL RV manufacturers use STANDARD OUTSIDE LIGHTING PRODUCTS.

    Typically Bargman brand.

OP, post a photo of your light and I bet someone WILL be able to identify the brand, model and how to remove it.

Most outside lights are puttied down pretty good to the outside skin and may take some work to pry it loose.
  • Gdetrailer, Good catch and my mistake...Now that you mention it I do seem to remember that our Komfort did have Bargman tail lights.
  • Posting a picture would have been the clever thing to do;) I think it's held on with silicon. I've been working a putty knife behind it and it's still holding. I thought I'd see if I can find some trim removal tolls and try them.

Once I've got one off I can see if there's a connection like there is on commercial trucks and trailers (probably not) or if its wired straight in. And I can take one to the local auto parts and truck centres to find something that will work.

  • Ok I got them off. Big blob of silicon holding them to the body. Fished out the wires, now looking to see if I can find a similar style of if I'm going a different route.
