My wife and I are retired. After three back surgeries my wife is ready to move up from our popup campers. We would appreciate recommendations for a small TT that could be towed behind a V6 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We prefer:a. Entrance at the opposite end from the bed end.b. Comfortable seating for two. Both have had back surgeries.c. Able to camp in hot or cold climatesd. Short camper say less than 20 ft.e. Not a hybrid.Any help would be appreciated.

There is basically nothing that will meet your criteria and still be towable you your Jeep.Plan on moving up to a larger tow vehicle, then you can get a decent trailer.

Airstream makes a 19 foot TT that will fit your needs perfectly.

Much depends on the tug- Cherokees' tow capacity is all over the map, depending on year/model etc.Here's some info on the 2013.

I see the 178 is two ft longer than the 177. was wondering how they put that larger dinette in. :)

incidentally the 177 was the one that I came really close to buying but bought my Ascend instead. the Rpods had very little overhead storage and no hang up storage.

Could be - all's good, no worries. We had an R-Pod 173, which we hated and didn't keep long, but we're kind of liking this new 178. The u-shaped dinette offers a decent sized bed (we're thinking grandkids in the near future ;)), and it has a slide, so you can pass each other without sucking in your guts as you pass. The issue is still the wet bath with us - DH refused to take a shower in our 173, and I only did when the campground showers were nasty. We love the good sized tanks and having a real potty. We really miss that in our Aliner.

FWIW - We had a 1990 Fleetwood Yukon 15'. Sticker weight was just under 2000#. Front double bed, rear side door. Wet bath. Single axle.

Towed very well. Would be tight if you're a 6 footer. Small size meant it was easy to heat and cool.

Nothing fancy, but fully equipped with standard brand components. Good intro into RVing.

There were a lot of them made around that time under the different Fleetwood brands and there are some clean ones still around. Should be able to get one for around 3K.

You might want to look at a forum called Fiberglassrv.com. Tons of info on Casita & other egg campers. There is a Parkliner, fiberglass 15 ft unit that is built in NC. Interior is high enough for a 6'2" person. My sister recently bought one, very awesome with lots of storage/fab design.
The Ascend looks like an awesome camper. Evergreen has superb customer service. I can't say enough about the company's after purchase help/support.

X2 on the Lance 1575. It's lightweight, well made and with a dry bath! Plus the trailer can be used in colder climates.

Casita 17 footer. A Frames are also very easy to set up. We have one (see signature). They're very light and can be towed by your vehicle. The Aliner Expedition comes with a bathroom, as do some of the Flagstaff/Rockwood A Frames. Another lightweight model that comes to mind is the R-Pod 178. It has a wet bath and a kitchen slide out. I've had the same camper since '01 but 4 different tow vehicles. My trailer is small, about 2,000 lbs. My '00 Cherokee did a fine job, but my '03 Grand Cherokee with same engine was a dog. '07 Vue was fine, '12 Santa Fe is by far the best. All had/have a 6 cylinder but HP all different. Vehicles vary, even though tow ratings may be similar. You didn't post which GC you have. Maybe you should try another post to check how your GC stacks up as a tow vehicle.
