Replacement for my Equalizer WD Hitch?

I have had that problem a few times and had to dig out 4-6 inches. I keep a small shovel in the trailer for these occasions.

For unhitching on a slope, I find this to be the easiest way to unhitch.

Once you back in your trailer, chock the trailer wheels. Then place TV in drive while holding the brake. Place TV in park. Once in park, release the brake pedal slowly. TV should move forward a couple inches. That should release any bind on the hitch ball. You can now raise the trailer has high as needed to remove the bars easily and then lower back to a comfortable height to release the hitch ball from the tongue. I hope this helps.

It looks like you have an "under frame" tongue on your trailer. that will affect your ground clearance a lot. That and towing with a lower riding SUV than a Pickup truck.
My 2007 Surveyor sits 8" lower than many Travel trailers, when we had our 2006 Silverado our hitch head mount had to be turn down like yours even with the 4-point Equalizer hitch. Slopes, speed bumps, and uneven campsites were a "BEAR". Our 2010 Silverado sits 4 inches higher than the '06 and totally changed my setup.

I have raised the tongue up while attached to truck still. Just wasnt sure if at a certain point, going any higher was going to start putting pressure on more. Basically just curious if there is a way to crank it too high or not to get them off.

The metal didnt bend, just shifted in position as if the threaded jobby supposed to keep it from moving up or down wasnt all the way tight. So it didnt actually bend ao much as shifted downward

Are you using the trailer's jack to raise the tongue up before removing the bars? There's no problem with jacking it up (and lifting the rear of the truck some) to relieve tension on the bars. It works when putting the bars in place also.

I don't like the sound of your hitch head bending; are you sure about that? All the WD hitches I have used seemed very strong (forged steel on my Reese SC) and unlikely to give way without the bars attached. Perhaps something else occurred along the way and that is why the bars are being difficult?

My hitch was set up incorrectly. Dealer admitted it. Said guy that installed these has installed the frame brackets upside down more than once. So now my clearance issue does seem better. I do continue to struggle with 1 aspect. My driveway has a very slight slope to it, not much at all, but it makes getting the sway bars off a real bi**h. I am tired of struggling with removing those dudes. Can anyone give me a general rule of thumb (in case Im doing it wrong) of how high or low the tongue should be to where the least amount of pressure is on the sway bars? When on flat land they usually pop right off but I dont think my hitch can really handle the load w/o them on as ive tried taking them off before parking and it slightly bent the hitch ball set up.

I had to adjust my EQ hitch when I bought our trailer. The website has instructions to download (free), and the company was a big help. I didn't even have to press 1 when they answered.
There are washers and adjustments that can be changed. Actually, after reading the instructions and a little pondering, it was simple.
