Rockwood Signature and Windjammer quality and construction

We're looking for a new trailer with rear living in the 32 to 34 ft range. We really like a floor plan in the Signature and Windjammer series. While they look very nice. A friend has me concerned about the build and construction. Specifically with the vacuum bonded floor system. He and others had problems with their Rockwood trailers in that area. Are there widespread issues with that construction. I also read that the frames are not as strong. I'm looking at this being a 10 to 15 year trailer for snow birding in Florida. Should I be concerned?

Thanks,
Dennis

We have had ours for almost 8 years and no issues with the floor. Do have some delamination on the sides due to a couple of water leaks a couple of years ago but other than that no issues.

I had a Rockwood windjammer 3001W, the floor developed soft spots in front of the kitchen sink and vanity sink after 2 years and more later I keep the trailer for 4 years and lost 3500 dollars because of the condition of the floor when I sold it. I would never buy anything with a compost floor.

We're on our second Rockwood trailer, first a 23SS HTT and now an Ultra Lite 2604 and no problems with either.

So you're in KY and snowbird to FL....with normal, routine maintenance, you shouldn't have any issues. Have never seen a post re this...possible I could have missed it, but certainly would not consider this to be a "widespread problem". Any manufacturer can turn out an "oops" from time to time, but it's the luck of the draw and we've been totally pleased with both of ours.

It might sit for 15 years before you have enough snow.

We had our first signature ultra light for 7 years and got a new one 3 years ago. We are gone about 2-3 months twice a year and have had no problems.

Damned auto-correct. Should have read "snow birding" I read this while eating breakfast and almost chocked from laughing. I did change the original post.

Thanks for the laugh.

Had a 34' Flagstaff (twin to Rockwood) for 6 years, took it on several long trips, at least 2 per year, and never had any trouble with the floor. Workmanship for a lightweight trailer was good, we thought, and lots of thoughtful little details not found in other brands of trailers we looked at.
