- Dave5143ExplorerI had a 2004 TUndra with the 4.7L engine. Loved that truck except for the tranny. Darned thing would downshift the moment it saw a hill coming up. Very annoying.
I traded it in for an F250 when I bought the 9700 pound trailer. - colliehaulerExplorer IIIFord truck enthusiasts forum

- colliehaulerExplorer IIIOn the FTE forum I believe they have a few of the V-10's make it. I can't imagine what the rest of the truck looks like by then.
- VernDieselExplorerI know there is some out there. Post em up.

Lots of small diesels such as in pick ups or smaller straight trucks make a million miles especially Cummins & the old IH/Ford 7.3s. Cummins even has a club / website dedicated to it. Not many gassers ever make it.
Then again most of the big mile applications namely Transporters & Hot shoters tow and often heavy wherein the gassers are too costly to drive and make decent profit towing heavy & high drag loads since fuel is the biggest expense and directly affects the profit margin.
These two oil field hot shot drivers mostly run around lightly loaded with parts in the bed much like the auto parts stores mini trucks that run automotive parts to automotive shops.
I've seen several documented Chevy small block and Ford Triton trucks make it to 1 million miles.- VernDieselExplorerLots of small diesels such as in pick ups or smaller straight trucks make a million miles especially Cummins & the old IH/Ford 7.3s. Another 15 decades and I will reach the million mile milestone! :)

- spoon059Explorer IIGreat truck. I loved my Tundra and miss it dearly, but I just needed more payload. It was comfortable, powerful, stout and dependable when I owned it. It was fun to drive and towed my 6500 lbs trailer with ease.
Fuel mileage was on the lower side (averaged about 16, towing was around 9 or 10 with my smaller trailer, around 7-8 with my bigger trailer).
Trans always felt tight and smooth. Brakes always felt sufficient. The 5.7 just kept creating power. I really think they could offer than engine and trans in a 3/4 ton and do just fine. I know that I would have bought one in a heartbeat.
