Shutoff valves for appliances?

Close off and disconnect your propane tanks. Blow out with compressed air.

'Brazing on a gas line!' I would follow the line back to find a T connection and find the appropriate plug to seal it off.

Yes, every appliance ever installed has had braising done to the line.

As far as a shutoff in an RV, lol, no. Turn off your tanks and run the stove till it sputters out and then detach the pigtail and blow some air in with the burner open. Any trace gas after that won't do anything that your torch isn't already.

Remove fridge gas line back at the 'T' and install a pipe plug...done

No 'brazing' required as RV LP System is screwed together from TANK to main line to 'Ts' to each appliance...screwed together

no shot offs. That costs money. No need for a makeshift cap. Buy the proper brass threaded cap and install with some Teflon tape and be done with it.

While I'm sure they aren't above saving a couple bucks...in a household setting, the appliances are often spaced far apart. (stove/oven in kitchen, how water heater in a closet by the bathroom, furnace in the basement, etc...). Plus if you are working on the stove in the winter, you don't necessarily want to shut off fuel to the furnace if it will take several hours to finish.

With an RV, there is a single obvious shut off (the tank) and it would be very rare to work on the stove while keeping the furnace running...so the priority to have independent shut offs is far lower.

Close tank valves. Find most convenient place to unscrew black iron pipe. Either close off with a plug or cap. Use gas rated Teflon tape, not regular plumbing tape.

^ There is heavy "yellow" teflon tape meant for gas lines. Unsure what the difference is.

Also a tip that I just leaned from a plumber buddy. Again, his method, but he's connected more threaded pipes than all of us put together (unless you're a plumber or fitter, lol).
All threaded connections, he uses teflon tape first and none of this wrap around the pipe twice stuff, like 4-5 wraps. Then pipe dope on top of that.
I questioned the necessity and he said in rare instances, he's seen one or the other leak but never both.

Right or wrong, my pipe joints are now messier than they used to be, trust his opinion. Even though I've never had issue with pipe dope, I've had air fittings leak with teflon tape, generally higher pressure than gas or water service lines

There are no shut offs for the appliances. You should be able to get the proper cap or plug to put on the line without needing to braze anything.

I installed a cap. Done.

I've never seen propane line brazed. Copper plumbing, yes. gas line, NO.

Like Old Biscuit says, RV Propane systems are generally all screwed together.
