- TachdriverExplorerPull Switch out and reverse wires….done!
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIIS this something you have just noticed....something that has changed from before?
Have you done any thing recently to DC system....change batteries?
Battery cables correct?
If you have taken battery cables off and gotten them reversed....slide out would work backwards due to reversed polarity.
And the 'reverse polarity' fuses on converter may have blown....slide out directly wired to battery but if fuses blown nothing DC inside rig will work from battery without shore power/converter. - RoyBExplorer III will add have you replaced your battery terminals recently - maybe they are put back on reversed...
Make sure the PRINTED WORD NEG on the battery case goes to frame ground...
If they have been reversed then you should also look for an in-line fuse near the battery blown and two fuses in the 12VDC distribution Panel labeled REVERSE POLARITY. These three fuses also blow when the battery cables are reversed...
Your slide motor is usually connected direct to the battery terminals so they may placed on the wrong terminals as well...
Just something to check before moving cables on the back of the slide switch. I'm assuming the slide switch has worked correctly in the past???? Those slide switch connections just don't get reversed by themself.
Whenever we see questions like this the first thing folks ask is what have done to the RV trailer recently...

Don't know about quicker.....I'm a two finger occasional thumb typer.:B
OP has had to changed something recently OR switch has shorted internally but that usually ends up with no workie. - TachdriverExplorerBut wouldn't a reversed polarity 12v yield dark lights? :B

Darn it! Almost pooped myself laughing! :B - brownieabExplorerMe Too....That was clever
- skipncharExplorerI suppose reversing polarity would also result in dry water?
- rcostaExplorerThank you for the conversation.
I did not change anything, and it had worked correctly, so I don't think changing the wires in the switch would be the ultimate answer.
I did notice a blown fuse for the slide out, but I replaced it.
I was thinking reverse polarity because I noticed once when I hooked up the battery incorrectly, the slide out switch operated reversed as well. But today, when I switched the cable, nothing happened, including the lights.
With no shore power, the lights work, but the slide out switch is still reversed.
Tomorrow, I will look at some of the suggestions above.
Thank you again.
