I would say you need to do the adjustment bolt and go from there. Your slide motor is prob made by venture manufacturing, they make a large percentage of trailer slide motors. The problem could also be a stripped gear inside the slide motor. You don't have to replace the whole motor, it can be easily removed from trailer and opened up to replace the gear which you can buy from venture a lot cheaper than a whole new motor.
