That's only about 4000btu and you now need to design and implement a 24v DC power system independent of your 12v system.
The 9000btu RV unit makes a lot more sense.
Only 8A @ 24V in eco mode, that is ~17A@12V with a 12V to 24V converter. DC to DC converters are very efficient and not very expensive, found a 40A output model for $120 on Amazon.

According to the coleman site, it's only around 1200w, which a 2000w (1600w continuous) generator should be able to manage. The only issue is startup but there are capacitor systems that solve that issue.

I don’t know. 9200 btu would be ~ 2650W

If successfully starting a roof mount A/C with a genset is the issue then the better solution would be a 13,500 BTU A/C equipped with a Micro-Air Easy Start Soft Starter Kit powered with the new Honda EU2200i which is significantly more powerful than it's 2K predecessor or indeed any 2K inverter genset currently available. If the OP felt a 9200 BTU A/C would be sufficient the EU2200i would just laugh at the task. 😛
