- Is it a TV antenna?
- snoboyExplorerYes it's a Marine TV Antenna. It's not this exact model as mine was an '04 but it was similar.
http://www.glomex.it/leisure/eng/antenna-tv-V9112-12AB.php - covered_wagonExplorerI found that regular coat hanger inside the camper worked better than the Glomax on the roof. I took it off, covered it with a piece of stainless and threw it in the garbage.
At least it doesn't stick up catching things and at least in my mind I get a little better miles per gallon w/o it. - BedlamModeratorMy Jensen omni-directional antenna did poorly compared to my previous Winegard omni - No idea on how your Glowmax fairs compared to my previous antennas. I now have a King Jack directional antenna that does better than either in pulling weak signals but must be moved/aligned between different TV towers. The Winegard directional is even better than the King Jack, but it requires you to crank it up before use and back down before traveling.

I found the same thing with the Jensen, pure junk - snoboyExplorerOK thanks guys. I think Glomex is no good for an RV and I'm not interested in putting something else on the roof. Sounds like I need to pull the coax in and do a small fiberglass patch/repair on the roof and call it macaroni. If I invest in a tailgater some day it can plug into the side mounted Cable TV connector.
- BedlamModeratorWhy not mount a coax barrel connector on the roof surface with a cap so you have it pre-wired if you change your mind?
Does your radio use the same antenna through a splitter or does it have a dedicated antenna? - snoboyExplorerBedlam that's good advice. Actually I don't know the answer as we usually play CDs rather than listen to radio. I will definitely check and take the appropriate action. Thanks
- TiziExplorerI bought one of those flat antenna and mounted inside the entertainment cabinet. 50 mile range, **** thing actually works really well.

That's what I did when I removed the Winegard crank up OTA antenna to make room for more solar. Winegard reception was also ****, at least where I generally camp. I cut an aluminum plate to match the footprint of the Winegard and mounted a RF barrel connector for future use. I took an RF connector that you would crimp onto coax and sealed it with RTV then screwed it onto the barrel connector to prevent water entering the connector until I added the Dish Tailgater you see mounted on the ladder.
Before anyone gets excited, the wire routing you see was temporary. I had removed my Kyocera panels to make room for the AC, then had the AC installed before mounting the new Renogy panels.
