Stove vent

I use my two stepper step stool to stand on when opening and closing the tabs on my vent and it works pretty good for me to reach up there and do that.

I saved this link for that very reason, no ladder ever needed again!

I also have an arctic fox. I use the rear awning hook to manipulate the tabs. Works great for me and it's always in the camper anyway.

I have AF 990 use wooden rod with stiff wire bent in L at end works great. it is 1/2 wooden dowl 4 ft long.

2x on the rear awning bar. perfect "L' shape...takes a little practice.

I have never bothered to latch it closed. It seems like more effort than its worth. In cold I just put tinfoil under the hood screen.

Yeah...this one's got me scratching my head too....never even thought about closing it...

I suppose it depends on what KIND of vent you have - the one on my old 2001 Elkhorn had a plastic tab on both sides to hold it closed - I'd stand on a cooler to reach them.

During just right windy camping conditions, the vent "flap" would do just that - "flap" all night long. Not an issue if your a heavy sleeper or hard of hearing. :)

The dealer that sold it to me said the tabs were an attempt to slow water ingress on the highway during wet conditions.

Reason I close it is because of the amount of RAIN up here.. If I left that badboy open I'm sure I'd have a nice amount of water coming into my camper from road spray & rain (while driving).
