- donn0128Explorer IIHost has a slew of really interesting floor plans.
Arctic Fox or Lance. - burningmanExplorer IIBigfoot or Northern Lite are what I believe to be the best, but that Host Mammoth is pretty impressive.
- mountainkowboyExplorerArctic Fox, Northern Lite, Host, Bigfoot, Lance...there all on the upper end.

I have a 2006 I’m thinking possibly maybe looking at something newer. I have a Lance ,the dealer I spoke to said Lance is back on the mark since a company sale took place.
I would like to give others a look, and do you know if any will be at Hershey? thanks.
Not sure I ever heard of Lance being "off the mark" prior to being sold. Is the salesman implying their quality is better now than before? - sbryanExplorer III'll add Northstar to the list. Great campers and incredible customer service.
- Optimistic_ParaExplorerNot to be nit-picking, but it sort of depends on how you define 'best', doesn't it? What exactly is it you're trying to accomplish?
If you're purpose in having a truck camper is to put it on a 4X4 truck and get WAY back in the boondocks, places where no motor home or truck pulling a trailer could reach, then how TALL a truck camper is becomes a crucial factor. TCs like Alaskan, All Terain. and Four Wheel Campers will get you places you could never get a regular TC by virtue of their much lower travel height. - SidecarFlipExplorer III

Exactly. 'Best' is determined by individual need, not by manufacturer and exactly why I have a pop up. No hard side could reach where I camp mostly, just way too high. Having said that I looked at all the pop ups and decided on what I bought for a number of reasons besides utility and floor plan.
No unit made will be 100% what I require but the one I bought comes the closest. - towproExplorerAt Hershey in past I saw Lance but could not get near them, and palameno. That was it. Unless Truck camper warehouse came down there is not any dealers around.
- jmtandemExplorer II'Best' is hard to define and depends a lot on what you are looking for. For me an Alaskan would be my first choice for a pop up and a Northern Lite for a hard side. However, if I was looking for a slide out camper then would look at Host.
- SideHillSoupExplorerBefore we bought ours we did a lot of research and tire kicking. We made a list of likes and dis-likes and used that list to help guide us. We also had to match the camper weight and size to our truck, so that alone cut the list to choose from.
After many many months of looking we decided on Northern Lite. Everyone will have a different idea of what they want or need, however this camper fit our needs and wants perfectly.
