... I don't know what that is, but its not camping. I have two small children, we like to fish, swim , roast mashmelloes, etc. when I take the kids camping and can't do any of those things because some old sob wants to live in filth seems silly. I will indeed stay away from private parks moving forward...
I have experienced the situation you describe and agree that it is not something I prefer. However, from my experiences, I don't feel you need to stay away from all private RV parks as we have stayed at many very nice, quiet and beautiful private parks. It might be from your limited experience that you've just been unlucky so far. You've been provided with some good info on just doing your homework before making those reservations.
Don't get frustrated with what you've experienced so far as spending time with your young family is what is most important. I recall family camping trips (non-RV but tent style car camping) were some of the best and most memorable times from my childhood. That was motivation enough to try and provide the same family togetherness for my family. With a little time under your belt, you will get it figured out on where to go to make it an even better experience.
I'm even waiting patiently for a solar kit to arrive for more independence from electric hook-ups and that could be a consideration for you as well. As far as the quality of RVs piece, and you did say it wasn't that big a deal, get to know your trailer and how to fix the small or even large items. Look into the ability to customize the trailer to your desire by implementing a lot of the modifications you'll see posted here and on other web sites. It can actually be quite fun to do mods on your trailer too.
Most importantly, just remember to enjoy your time away with your family.
