Many have suggested "Research" and RV Park Reviews as the sure fire way to avoid problems... Don't get me wrong research can be a good idea and may help. But the trouble with that advice is that ALL review sites are gamed by owners and their competition and are primarily used as axe grinding exercises by others.
RV Park web sites are for the most part articles of fiction. Some are very good mind you and are relatively honest in their photographic representations, others are bordering on fraud.
Really the only way to know is to GO there and look for yourself. I rarely make reservations but when I do it's usually only for one night. If I plan a longer stay I tell them I will stay one night and see how I like it. I never commit to a full stay by reserach or the web alone.
And I have never been without a place to stay and if I have had to leave a place because it was unsuitable I have always found a better one nearby many times for less money. (and usually not in the Good Sam book)
My point simply is that claiming "Research" and RV Park Reviews as the end all and be all of campground selection is misleading and certainly not foolproof.
